I will admit, I’m madly in love with my Asus Transformer Tablet. I was at a conference recently for three days and while everyone around me had to close their laptops each morning after a few hours, I didn’t have to charge my tablet once the entire trip! The battery holds out for 18 hours of Facebook, tweeting, and notetaking. Plus, with the optional docking station it become a mini-laptop.

I got my new, but you can get a much better deal than me and pick up a a refurbished Asus 10.1 Inch Android Transformer Tablet TF101-X1 for only $269, normally $470! Add the optional keyboard docking station, normally $630 normally, for only $319 total.

Constantly rated one of the best Android tablets, you won’t regret it. It has a really great SuperNotes app for college students that allows you to quickly scribble notes. It can even do karaoke!

This deal a day is good nationwide and available through Wednesday, July 11, 2012 or while supplies last so HURRY!  Make sure you read all the fine print to make sure you understand the restrictions before you buy.

My daughter asked for a laptop for Christmas.  She’s really responsible with her “toys”, but still only 7 years old.  But, knowing how much she’d use it, I started doing some research.  When my sister mentioned she got her daughter a Amazon Kindle Fire, I turned to tablets and started looking there.

So many daily deal site are having shocking deals on unknown brands and research was telling me that they weren’t worth the value they were claiming or even the price they were charging.  I guess it was a good reminder that if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.  Most are Chinese knock-offs.

Being a total tech geek, I knew what I wanted.

  1. Affordable, but not junk!
  2. Access to the Android & Amazon Market
  3. Ability to read Amazon Kindle or Nook books
  4. Access to Internet
  5. Flash for Online Games
  6. Android 2.3 or higher operating system
  7. Ability to watch  movies and shows
  8. Webcam to Skype with me when I attend conferences or travel
  9. Expandable memory for music
  10. WiFi Access

After a bit of research, I found it was hard to get the Android market on an Android tablet and very hard to find a well rated one that wasn’t $300-500.  But, I finally found the Coby Kyros Tablet.  It didn’t have perfect ratings, but after reading the complaints, I found that all weren’t really issues for me.  The Coby Kyros Tablet doesn’t have access to the Android Market, but there are YouTube videos with instructions on how to easily install it without rooting, which wasn’t possible on most tablets and invalidates your warranty.  Seriously, it’s simply downloading a file, then opening it and restarting your device.  And, it was also picky about touch, so it was best to use the stylist that came with it.

While I got a pretty good deal on Amazon, there’s an even better one right now on Groupon!  Pick up a Coby Kyros 7-Inch Android MID7127 4GB Tablet for only $149!  Keep in mind, while this does say “4G”, that means it’s 4 GB, not that it has 4G internet access.

I set Ady’s up before wrapping it, so it would be ready to go and I loved it.  It was easy to use and perfect for her!  I even picked up a cute pink case with keyboard for only $19.99, so it looks like a tiny laptop.
