The definition of local depends on the store, so you'd have to ask your store for the information. As for the right to refuse to price match, I don't see anything in their policy or on their website, but you might call headquarters and ask. I've never run into that situation.

Does Wal-mart reserve the right to decline a locally advertised sell item that fallows all the set criteria yet would cause the store a loss on the sell of the product? In other words, If I present a valid ad to the cashier upon check out could they refuse the ad based on it offering the item "too cheaply"?

and what radius does Wal-mart define as local?

Gail, they price match local competitor ads. They may feel 50 miles isn't "local". I don't think they've defined what "local" means officially, so I believe it's up to the manager. I've heard from readers that their store defined "local" as as close as 25 miles and as far as 100 miles, so you may want to ask them what their definition of local is to see if that's why they wouldn't match one of the ads.

I was in our local walmart in ky last week and they have always priced matched Aldis I live about 50 miles between two diffferent aldis I was told they
would price match one store but not the other one. The price on one location was much cheaper so they wouldn't let me have the items
for the cheaper price. I thought they priced matched any advertisement. this was done 4/12/2012.

Jeff, I've never hear of any rule regarding $0.47, but their price matching policy does say that sales with purchase aren't included. It's stated in this portion:

We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:

-Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
--example: “Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C”

So, buy $25 worth of groceries to get Weston Oil for $0.99 would be excluded.

Hope that helps.

Our recent local ad from a Walmart competitor here in Tupelo, Ms stated, "wesson vegetable oil 48 oz .99 cents with $25 additional purchase". The cashier at walmart refused to honor it because it had with $25 additional purchase (I spent $121). Also, she told me she had to see the ad IF the price difference was over .47 cents? I have never heard of such. I did have my ad paper and she requested to see the ad 4-5 different price match products. Another problem I had once was matching tbone steaks. The manager at walmart told me theirs were a "premimum" cut of tbone and wouldnt match the $3.99/lb ad on tbone steaks.

No. You have to buy the product at Walmart to price match. Walmart would not give you cash back on a product not purchased at their store. Unfortunately, Walmart doesn't price match insurance policies, so if you're after the insurance policy, the best bet in this situation may be to buy it at Best Buy. You'll get Walmart's insurance policy at Walmart for whatever price they offer it at.

No. First, you're looking for this line of the coupon policy: Only one coupon per item. Second, to stack coupons, you'd need a store and manufacturer coupon. Walmart does often release manufacturer coupons with their logo on it, but I've only seen Walmart coupons for the Walmart's photo area and services like that. Not brand-name products. The coupons on Walmart's website are printable manufacturer coupons. In fact, they are coupons from Coupons.com fed into their site, just like many other sites have. Regardless, their coupon policy says "one per item" so no stacking, even if you have a Walmart store coupon. Hope my rambling helps!

Shelia, because of coupon fraud, companies have the right to refuse any coupon that doesn't scan. Usually they only implement this for internet coupons, but it can count for standard coupons as well. Sometimes the store fears it's only good in a area or store. For example, if you picked up a newspaper in Florida and came here, then tried to use a coupon that wasn't issued to Indiana, it may not work. While typically it does and the store is reimbursed for it, the company doesn't have to reimburse the store if it doesn't scan and they force it through, simply because it wasn't issued for their store/area. Hope that helps.

I live in Fayette, AL and I was told that if a coupon that is clipped from news curricular paper does not scan it can not be put in manually? Why is this, the coupon is not internet printed but from a news paper

Kim, no. As you can read above in the Walgreens Price Matching Policy, they match specific prices like $2.49 for X. They do not match prices where you buy X and get something, like Register Rewards, in return. Specifically, what you are referring to is this line under "We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:" - Items that require a purchase to get a competitors’ gift card, example: “Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card. Since Register Rewards work similar to gift cards, in the fact that they are store credit, they fall under this exclusion. Sorry about that.

I was just wondering what walmarts policy is on free items. I was in walmart today and I had an ad from walgreens for free items. Ex: buy one for $2 receive $2 rr. making the item in the end free, the manager at walmart told me they do not do free items and they do not match register rewards. I thought they did?! I want my free items. Can you tell me if they do this or what?

Jennifer, unfortunately no. They only allow competitor coupons that offer a specific amount, so a coupon that says $0.99 for Libby's Black Olives would be honored. However a coupon that is money ($1 off) or a percent (10%) are not accepted. Most stores don't accept coupons that are for a percent off. Hope that helps.

I know this is an old post, but FYI for anyone reading it... Walmart will only price match on ADVERTISED prices from circulars. This person could not get the Lost DVD season for Target's cheaper price because it was NOT advertised. Realistically, it's not Walmart's job to know every price at every other store, so they are not going to match every price. The price match guarantee promotion is meant to draw customers to Walmart to do all their weekly shopping, instead of having to run around to 5 or 6 different stores to buy all the weekly sale items.

No, Walmart only honors competitor coupons that say the exact amount one product will cost. For example, a Walgreens coupon that states $0.99 for Combos. They do not honor money off a product or purchase.

So, from what I think I understand, one of the other stores has a ten dollars off for spending over a hundred in their store coupon in the weekly flyer. I'm guessing that is one of those things that Walmart will not honor?

Angela, no, you can not use two BOGO coupons on 2 items. You can use 1 BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale to make them both free. Some stores will let you use 1 BOGO coupon and a $/1 coupon on the other, but that is dependent on your store. For a BOGO to work, you have to have to buy one product and be paying a positive amount for it. Let me see if I can break it down for you, so you understand how it work.

You buy (2) Suave Shampoos at $1 each
You hand your BOGO coupon to the cashier
The system checks that you are buying and paying for one Suave Shampoo and make the other free
You hand your other BOGO coupon to the cashier
The system checks and sees you are only paying for one Suave Shampoo and denies the coupon
However, you can give the cashier a $0.50/1
The system checks and sees you are buying one Suave Shampoo and takes the $0.50 off that one

So in the end, one would be free and the other would be $0.50.

No store should accept two BOGO coupons on 2 products. To use 2 BOGO coupons, you should buy 4 products.
