Walgreens allows you to use Walgreens store coupons with manufacturer coupons to maximize your savings. If you’re looking for Walgreens store coupons, here is where I have found them.

There is a catch with Walgreens though. The number of coupons you use must be equal to the number of items purchases.  So, for example, if you want to use a manufacturer and store coupon on one product, you’d need to add one “filler item” to your cart to make sure you have two items for the two coupons you are using.  Look for inexpensive items, like a pack of gum, to use a filler items.

Walgreens Coupons

Walgreens Printable Coupons
Most of the coupons on Walgreens’s website are manufacturer coupons, but you’ll sometimes find a Walgreens-brand coupon within the mix that is a Walgreens store coupon. Look under “Browse Category” for “Walgreens” to find Walgreens stores coupons. The other coupons on the Walgreens website are from Coupons.com, so sometimes, with you print a coupon, you’ll notice that the coupon may no longer be available to print on Coupons.com.

If you don’t see Walgreens listed, this means there are no Walgreens coupons available at this time.

Walgreens Register Rewards

Walgreens often has Register Reward Deals. When you purchase the required item(s) or spend the minimum amount, you’ll be rewarded with Register Rewards, which are like money that can only be spent at Walgreens. Register Rewards must be used in one transaction and do expire, so make sure to note the expiration date.

The trick to Walgreens is to “roll” your Register Rewards to lower the amount you spend out of pocket. For example, one week, Garnier hair care products are on sale 2 for $5 and you get $2 Register Rewards when you purchase two. With coupons, your transaction may look like this:

(1) Garnier Fructis Shampoo $2.50
(1) Garnier Fructis Conditioner $2.50

You use a (2) $1/1 Garnier Hair Care coupons.
You pay $3 and get back $2 in Register Rewards

The following week, Gillette Fusion Razors are on sale for $7.99 and you get $5 ExtraCare Buck with purchase. With coupons, your transaction may look like this:

(1) Gillette Fusion Razor $7.99

You use (1) $5/1 Gillette Fusion Razor coupon.
You use your $2 Register Rewards from the previous week.
You pay $0.99 and get back $5 Register Rewards to use on your next purchase.

Keep in mind, there are often limits on how often you can take advantage of an Register Rewards deal each week.

The goal is to generate Register Rewards to use on your next transaction to lower your out of pocket costs and help you save money. Make sure you read Getting Paid to Shop to understand rolling rewards to save at Walgreens and other pharmacies.
