Because Marsh Supermarket is a smaller grocery store chain, at time prices can seem higher. However, Marsh Supermarket is excellent about offering discounts, coupons, and savings to help you maximize your savings.

The trick to saving money at any store is to understand the store’s policies and take advantage of all the various savings promotions they offer. Marsh Supermarket is no different. If you walk into Marsh Supermarket and throw items in your cart, you won’t save much, if anything. The key is to use your coupons on sale items, or better yet Mega Sale items, to maximize your savings.

In addition to the information below, read 13 Tips to Save at Marsh.

Marsh Supermarket Resources

Marsh Ad

The Marsh ad starts on Thursday and runs through Wednesday. The Marsh Supermarket Deals & Coupon Matchups on In Good Cents are for the Central Indiana area. Prices may vary by location, but are often similar.

Marsh Supermarket often has great sales such as Sale Events where you’ll instantly save money if you purchase a certain amount of participating products. For example, if your Marsh Supermarket has a $5 Sale Event when you purchase 10 participating items, your receipt may look like this:

General Mills Chex Cereal $1.99
General Mills Chex Cereal $1.99
General Mills Chex Cereal $1.99
General Mills Chex Cereal $1.99
General Mills Chex Cereal $1.99
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks $1.49
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks $1.49
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks $1.49
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks $1.49
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks $1.49
Promotion $5 Off -$5

Balance $12.49

It’s like getting $0.50 off each item during the Sale Event. If you purchased an 11th item, you would not get $0.50 off that item. Items must be purchased in increments of 10 in this scenario to receive your instant savings.

Marsh Supermarket also has 10 for $10 sales. For these sales, each item will ring up as $1. You DO NOT have to purchase 10 items to get each item for $1. Along the same lines, Marsh Supermarket buy one, get one sales do not ring up as one product at full price and one product free. Instead, each item rings up as 50% off, so you DO NOT have to purchase two to receive the savings.

It depends on how it’s written in the ad. If it says 10/$10, then you can purchase 1 or 100 and they’ll each be $1. However, sometimes both Kroger and Marsh do deals in which they’ll say “must buy 2″ or “only when you purchase 4″ and I’ll note this. They also have Mega Deals where where you have to buy 10 to get the instant savings. When reading my deals, if it says “$0.50 each after coupon” that means you only have to buy one to get the $0.50 price. I’ll put “wyb 2″ or “wyb 10″ if you have to purchase a certain amount. This week no, though, to answer your question!

When you have b1g1 at marsh do you have to get both or can you get just one at half price?

Brandy, You have to buy 2 at Marsh. Kroger is the only store I know of in this area that marks them at 50% off. At Marsh, one is full price and the other is marked at $0.

Can you direct me to anything on Marsh’s website about the Scan Right Guarantee? I busted that out at a Marsh tonight and everyone insisted that they’d never heard anything about it. Is there anything official I can point to?

Jane, I would love to, but it’s not on their website. I sent an email to see if this is a nationwide policy or varies by store, because I know this is the policy for the three Marsh stores in my area. They actually told me.

Jane, I just got a confirmation from Marsh. This was their reply:

Marsh does have a scan guarantee: If the scanning price is different than the shelf price, the customer receives the first item free. If there are additional items, you get the difference for the others. However, the free item has to be authorized by the manager on duty and the manager has the authority to determine if the claim is valid. If a price error is found, the customer should get the item for free and the correct price will get posted on the shelf. After a price correction is posted, we would not offer the item for free.

Great–thank you! I wish I’d seen this post last week, when I bought my turkey that was ringing up for almost 2x the sale price. :)

One thing that has confused me the most is in the coupon policy it states, “Limit of 2 identical coupons for 2 identical items (additional identical coupons for an identical item will be redeemed at face value).” Does this mean I can only buy a maximum of 2 identical items if I have 2 identical coupons for them? For example, if I had 30 like coupons for Gain Laundry Detergent and went to the register, they would only let me buy 2 of the bottles with coupons? I have been watching Extreme Couponers and they buy hundreds of the same items with a coupon for each one and I wish I knew which stores they shop at because all the stores close to me have the “2 identical product with coupon” limit. I want to be able to stockpile and it will take me forever if I can only buy 2 like products with coupons each shopping trip! Am I interpreting this right??

That line in coupon policies is actually to stop coupon fraud, such as copying or buying coupons. It truly means identical coupons. So, if you have two coupons for $0.50/1 Cheerios from the Red Plum 10/7/12 newspaper insert and two coupons for $0.50/1 Cheerios that were printed from coupons.com, then you have two sets of two identical coupons, not four identical coupons, and can buy four products. You just have to make sure the coupons are not identical. Now keep in mind, a manufacturer may put one coupon in two different inserts, so the coupon in the Red Plum 10/7/12 insert may be identical to the coupon 10/14/12 Red Plum insert. You have to check to see if the expiration dates and everything are the same on the coupon. Of course, most couponers stockpile without practicing extreme couponing. Many techniques on that show are illegal and some of the featured shoppers have faced legal action or had to reimburse stores for fraudulent actions, but none of that is shown on the show, so please double check everything you see on that show before trying with a legitimate source.

In the weekly ads,it says that you may recieve a coupon for free milk with additional purchase of $50. I went to the site but could not find the coupon.
I attempted to change my pass word. The site said I would recieve an e-mail to change it. I never recieved said e- mail.

I shopped at the German Church and E Washington store this week in
Indianapolis and found that they no longer double coupons. I was so disappointed. The co-manager said he had had many complaints and had told corporate.

Yes. All Marsh locations have stopped offering double coupons, so you won’t see any double coupons in the Marsh matchups. Meijer announced recently that they are stopping in Michigan and select Indiana stores as well.
