Cindy, not seeing the coupon, I can just take a stab at what it means. But based on the $7 off any four, that means that you have to purchase four of the products that are on the coupon. When a coupon covers multiple brands like this you can mix and match the brands to reach the total needed to use the coupon. You do not have to purchase 4 of the same kind of Kellogg's cereal. You could buy one of each product listed or any combination of them that you would like as long as your total of participating products is four or more to get the $7 off. Hope that answers your question!

Kelsie, Kroger is divided up into 9 regions and this coupon policy is for the Central Division. However, Kroger does allow managers to make changes to their coupon policy to address concerns in their area. This is simply the standard policy, but it may vary by store or city. Some do take more "like" coupons, but since you can't get sale items without using your Kroger Plus Card, they are capable of tracking what coupons you are using and do know if you're using more than their limit of "like" coupons within the 24 hour period with the same Kroger Plus Card. I don't actually see any limits on the number of transactions you can do in this region, though they do have limits on coupon usage per transaction. I know if the number of transactions you are doing is causing issues with other customers, they can and will ask you to go to the back of the line. That's simply common courtesy and it's their right. If you're in line to do a transaction and you've done that, they can make you get to the back of the line to do the next. For that reason, if I'm doing multiple transactions, I aim for times when they are less customers or I do one or two, and go to the back of the line myself to not hold others up. The cashiers are a lot nicer to you when you do this as well, which makes shopping easier.

My Kroger will double up to 66 cents and allow 4 "like" coupons at one time, I do 4 or 5 transactions in one shopping trip, they really cant stop you from doing that...I dont think. What are they going to say? Tell you to leave? Do some Krogers have independent coupon policy's?

Shelley, I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, so let me know if I don't answer correctly. First, all coupons can only be used once. This includes paper coupons and ecoupons on your card. So, if you use a coupon at Kroger, it's been marked as used and you can't use it again at another store. This has always been the rule in my area. If you are talking about a certain deal, if it has a limit, they do track that on your card and it does carry store to store. Again, that's always how things have worked in my area. But, this is only when a deal or sale says "Limit 1" or something similar.

As for Extreme Couponing, I would only watch that show for entertainment purposes and not attempt anything on the show without extensive research. You can only use 1 store and 1 manufacturer coupon per item you purchase, if your store allows stacking coupons. And, Kroger does have a limit of how many "like" (or identical) coupons you can use per transaction. Extreme Couponing asks stores to waive their coupon policy in exchange for the free advertising they get from the show. The stores knowingly allows the people on the show to use coupons in ways typical consumers can not. There has been multiple cases of coupon fraud, fraudulent coupon use, and other issues on the show and even the CIC (<a href="http://www.couponinformationcenter.com/extremecoupon.php" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Coupon Information Center</a>) has offered multiple times to help them make their show accurate and realistic, but they decline. Some of the stores have had to be reimbursed for money lost by fraudulent actions on the show. It's unclear to me if the person on the show or TLC reimbursed the stores though.

Why has Kroger changed their policy on the number of transactions with a coupon and the fact that you can only use it on your card once. If you go to another store, the card detects you've already used it and won't scan it? What is the deal? Of all places where people are struggling to get coupons & good prices...Saginaw, Michigan...we have to then go to stores with better offers & those who accept more than 1 transaction....that's sad.....if you watch Extrememe Couponing the Kroger stores on that show always always allow 10, 15, 21 coupons for one item with no problem at all....are we getting that greedy about our sales?

Some managers and cashiers don't understand how coupons work or that they'll be reimbursed for the value of the coupon plus shipping and handling. It makes it hard for us, but since they believe they are losing money, they stick to their guns. Often calling headquarters helps, since they can explain and will be believed, versus us, who they tend not to trust.

Stef, I know what you mean about Kroger! At times they become very difficult, the best way I have found to respond to people dealing with coupons, is to have the coupon policy with me in my binder. You can get an official copy of Kroger's coupon policy by emailing them and asking for it. Just simply use the "Contact Us" feature on the Kroger website. As far as the Brawny coupon goes, they should have let you use those coupons according to their store policy. My suggestion is get familiar with the store cashiers and learn which ones are easier to deal with and have a copy of the store policy. If you want to take it an extra step, once you get your store policy meet with a manager and ask him to make sure it is current for your store. Ask him to sign it and date it too! If he does, some won't, that signature goes a long way when you pull out the policy and say, "Maybe I am mistaken, but when (manager name) and I went through the policy, I was under the impression that this was allowed. Has it changed recently?" LOL :-) Good luck with Kroger! Once you find a good cashier and manager, stalk them (not literally)! :-) Once I found a store and a manager that was coupon friendly I will NOT go to another Kroger ever!

Whenver I go to Kroger's they are always giving me trouble with coupons.

They told me I can't use my 1.00 off any brawny paper towel (no size restrictions) because it'd make them free and they dont do that there...but tell me why they send us manufactured coupons for FREE items in the mail?? And we are allowed to use those without having to purchase anything else?? Lol! Makes NO SENSE. At all.

I am guessing that is due to the new barcode system. My interpretation of the sign is that it is basically an alert that the register is set up to automatically double the coupons that are permitted to be doubled by the manufacture. So if a coupon does not automatically double, the cashier will NOT go in and manually double it. So it is very important that we are all reading our coupons to see which ones say "Do Not Double" so we are not expecting that additional savings! Beth explains it really well here: http://ingoodcents.com/2012/02/my-coupon-is-missing-a-barcode-new-coupon-barcode-system.html

When I was at the check out line they posted a hand write note that states if the coupon doesn't double when scanned we do not double it. Above this hand written copy that stated we still double manufactures coupons as long as they don't state do not double. Please help me understand this.

Angela, no. eCoupons are considered manufacturer coupons, so you can't use another manufacturer coupon with it. The same rules still apply. Can't use two manufacturer coupons on one product. And, the ecoupon will automatically be taken off your card and takes priority over the paper, so if you have a paper coupon you'd like to use, do not put the ecoupon on your card. You also won't have to worry about double coupons, since Kroger stores in Texas stopped doubling coupons in September 2011.

They generally will show up under the product , not at the end where coupons typically are. Make sure you have the correct Plus card number on your online account and you can always contact customer service if it still is not going through.

How can you tell by looking at your Kroger receipt if the coupons applied to your kroger card are deducted? I don't think mine are coming off my card. Thanks a bunch.

They SHOULD have let you use a coupon on a clearance item but some managers are not comfortable with it. Unfortunately, almost every stores coupon policy says that management has the right to change the policy for their store. But I share in your frustration, I have had to deal with this situation more than once before. I would just stick with the store you are familiar with! :-) It's important to get to know your stores to learn each one's policies and become familiar with what is allowed where. Kroger is one of the the more frustrating stores with policies varying so much between locations! Hopefully they will get it together someday! ~Happy Shopping!

I went into Kroger today to use a coupon that I got in the mail for baby formula. The formula I needed was on clearance and they wouldn't let me use my coupon on it cause it was on clearance. I have used them before and there was not problem. I want to know why it is different for one store to another in the same town? I usually got to the close to my house but today I went to the one closest to work. The one close to my house does not have a problem with them. the manger at the one I went to today refused it. Please help me. Im confused on the coupon situation. Thanks.

Ana, yes, you can use coupons on clearance and sale items. In fact, I recommend stacking coupons with clearance and sale items as much as possible to maximize your savings.

Hello Beth! Happy to see a blogger from Indiana! :) I have a question in regards to Kroger's coupon policy, hopefully you may know. 1) Can you use coupons on clearance items? 2.) Can you use coupons on sale items, for example products included in the mega events? Thanks!

Thanks for that explanation - that makes sense - I think she was just confused too. So if someone had just photocopied coupons, they would have the exact same numbers around the outside. I just looked at some of my printed coupons that I have doubles of, and there are slight differences in the tiny numbers around the outside - it looks like it shows what date/time you printed them, sometimes your zipcode, etc. I am wondering though if there will be issues arising more often with printed coupons because of those that are using them fraudulently. I can't really see many stores/cashiers wanting to examine those tiny numbers (they're hard to see unless you're in good lighting!). I guess if there's a dispute again though, I will know what to have them check.

There's a unique code on each coupon. It's usually numbers around the outside of the coupon. Those should be different for each coupon and she's confusing that with the barcode. Kroger accepts two "like" printable coupons (so two of the same printable coupon).

I just went to Kroger today and encountered something I hadn't before. I was buying Beech-Nut baby cereal and had printed coupons off of CouponNetwork.com. I was buying two cereals and had two .60/1 internet-printed coupons. When I tried to check out with them, the cashier said I couldn't use both, because they were copies or duplicates (I can't remember exactly what she said) of each other. I said I had printed them both on my computer, and usually when you try to print more than two (the usual amount accepted), it won't let you. She said they were being told they couldn't accept two with the same barcode number. Wouldn't the same coupon always have the same barcode? It didn't make any sense to me, but my baby was crying and I wasn't going to stay any longer trying to get clarification. I ended up leaving with only one cereal. Any thoughts on what policy they were trying to enforce?

Robin, It depends on if the coupons with the Kroger logo says "Kroger store coupon" or "manufacturer coupon. Kroger is notorious for putting their logo on manufacturer coupons, which means you can use them anywhere and they can't be stacked with other manufacturer coupons.
