In theory, Terry. Manufacturer coupons are manufacturer coupons, regardless of if a store puts their logo on it. CVS could accept the coupon and get reimbursed for it, however they have the right to refuse coupons with other stores logos on them. In fact, they have the right to refuse all coupons.

Since some stores don't know better, they may put manufacturer coupon on a store coupon, because it's for a manufacturer brand. I know, that's confusing, but I've seen it done many times. For this reason, stores are hesitant to take manufacturer coupons with other stores logos on them, out of fear it really is a mislabeled store coupon. However, they could simply look at the redemption address to know if it's a store or manufacturer coupon truly. If it goes to the store, it's a store coupon, and if it goes to the manufacturer, it's a manufacturer coupon. But many simply decline the coupon.

So...if I have a manufacturer's coupon, issued by Kroger (not a store coupon, a manufacturer's coupon). I can use this at CVS? One local CVS accepts them, one doesn't (the CVS that doesn't also does not understand their BOGO policy as they always argue about it).
I am still confused about what a 3rd party manufacturer coupon is. So my Kroger issued manufacturer's coupon is not a 3rd party coupon?

That's unusual. CVS doesn't price match, so this must be just offered at your store. They do accept competitor coupons in the pharmacy though. I think, as for the gas, it depends where you live and the deals. I wouldn't drive mile to 10 different stores to get a bunch of different deals. But, our CVS and Walgreens are in the same parking lot, as well as our Meijer, Kroger, and Marsh. They are so close, that I don't mind visiting 1-3 stores each trip to get great deals.

The manager at the CVS in my area, Riverside county, CA told me that she will match competitors (walgreens and RiteAid) offers/sales. The only thing she requires is that I have the AD in hand so they can verify prices. She even said, "You can save gas by just coming to one store". She see's me there a lot and I am loyal to them but if there is a good deal somewhere else I am there! I love CVS the best so I was very happy about that information.
