FAQ

Do I have to print coupons in color?

Typically no, you can print them in black and white. However, some stores may require that they be printed in color, so make sure to check with your store first.

Do I have to print coupons in high-quality?

Unfortunately, in my experience, I’ve found that it will save you a lot of trouble if you print them in normal quality. Once upon a time you could print them in draft and many stores will still take them. However, on some printers, draft quality causes the barcode to be blurry, which will cause the coupon to not scan properly. Stores don’t have to take coupons without a scannable barcode. Though some will push it through, others will reject the coupons.

How can I save money printing coupons?

Printing coupons can get expensive, so here’s some tips to help you save -

  • Try printing in draft to see if your store will accept them
  • Use the back of old or scrap paper to print coupons
  • Watch for deals and discounts on printer ink, especially online through cashback companies
  • Refill your ink cartridges, instead of buying new ones
  • Purchase refurbished ink cartridges, instead of new ones
  • Print 3 coupons at a time from sites like Coupons.com, so that you aren’t printing just one per page

What does IE or FF mean?

That refers to your browser. Some coupon links are designed to print in a specific browser, like Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox, only. IE stands for Internet Explorer and FF stands for Firefox. Just click the link that corresponds to your browser.

Why won’t this internet coupon print?

Often this means the print limit has been reached for the coupon and they haven’t updated their system yet. However, it may be your browser. Coupons are often designed to print on either Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox. If you are stuck on the “need to install coupon printer” or “please wait” page, that’s probably the case.

For Brick coupons, to fix this error, you can often make a simple change to the link.

The above link was designed for Internet Explorer. I know this because if you scan the link, you come across “wi”. Let me highlight it for you so you can see what I’m talking about -

http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qeppeja40749121&bt=wi&o=56230&c=IB&p=ijSslun9

Links that have a “wi” or “vi” are for Internet Explorer, while links with a “wg” are for Firefox, and links with an xs are for Safari. To get the coupon to print in your browser, just make the change.

Now this coupon will print in Firefox for me!

Do all stores take printable coupons?

Unfortunately, some have stopped taking printable coupons, due to fraudulent coupons causing them to lose money. However, before you lose hope, call the store’s headquarters. Most store employees don’t realize that their national policy is to accept internet coupons.
