Happy Friday Everyone!  Hope you have had as much fun on Pinterest this week as I have.  I even took time away from pinning to make a couple of things I pinned.

9.  What a cute idea.  You could add sparkles, sequins, small toys.  Whatever you want to match your decor.

7. This reminds me of the salad I love from Panera Bread. Just a blueberries, pineapple, apple and change pecans to almonds.

6. This lady used her crockpot to cook everyday for a year.  The recipes are on her site.  Yes 365 of them. Love my crockpot.  It makes life so much easier.

4. I am wishing it was yard sale season so I could go on a hunt for an old ladder.   I really want to do this in my hallway.

Now, my aunt fits more on the sensitive, sappy, sentimental side, so I knew going into this I was going to get some tears from her…but my uncle…he is recently retired military, so I wasn’t too sure. We were all a bit anxious to see both of their reactions. As she hit play and we listened to all the messages I  looked around the room and saw each and every one of us wiping our eyes as the messages were played (even my uncle!!!) Being able to give them this gift after everything they give to everyone, touched my heart but I know it meant a lot more to them!

At college, I always bought used books at a store on the Ball State Campus.  I compared prices between the two local book stores and made sure to go early to get my books at the lowest possible price.  I thought I was being so frugal.

I don’t have kids in college yet, but I clearly remember the shock I felt when I saw that college textbooks were a lot more than any other book I’d ever bought in my entire life.  So, when my kids hit college, I don’t even want to image what that price will be!

A lot of bookstores, even those on campus, offer different options to help you save – buy new, buy used, rent new, or rent used.  So, you’d think that you’d get the best price right there, locally.  At least, that’s what I assumed.

When eCampus asked me to write a bit about saving money with services that let students rent college textbooks online, I was skeptical to be honest.  But, I tested it out by searching for books for a few basic classes and compared the prices at the bookstore I shopped at Ball State University to eCampus.

The truth was painful – I wasn’t so frugal after all.

Can you believe some of those price differences? And it seemed, at least for me, that the more advanced the courses got the more expensive the books were.  Especially, since most of those books weren’t available to rent or sometimes even used. But, on eCampus.com, it seemed the exact opposite for the books I searched.  Many that I would have to buy at the local bookstore, I could simply rent on eCampus for a fraction of the price.

Then there’s the end of the year.  I would always rush to sell my books to get money back, but sometimes those books weren’t being used again and they bookstore wouldn’t buy them.  I’d be stuck with a book, I’d probably never open again.  But, with eCampus, you aren’t stuck with books at the end of the year ever!  They always go back.  But, if you really want to sell used textbooks, you can do that on eCampus too!

Oh, and did I mention that shippings is FREE for all purchases of $59 or more? That’s about the costs of one college textbook, so it won’t be hard to hit that minimum.

I like purses. Okay, not just like, I LOVE purses. All sorts of purses, but lately, my biggest purse problem has been finding a one that works for EVERY situation. Audrey is a bit large (17-1/2”W x 13”H x 6”D) for what you think when you hear purse, but I LOVE HER! And in all honesty she is only a bit bigger than my previous purse, so the size isn’t too much for me at all.  She is the PERFECT everything bag! As soon as my new Audrey bag arrived I quickly moved everything from my old purse, and to my surprise EVERYTHING from my old bag fit into the Signature Pocket Design that come in EVERY GiGi Hill bag. Leaving the entire space inside the purse for me to carry all those extras that seem to pop up throughout the day. These Signature Pockets are AMAZING!!!! Plus with the nice key fob there is a handy place for me to quickly find my keys when I need them. Great for a forgetful mom like myself.

I am not a photographer by any means, but these pockets are so amazing, I HAD to show you!

I now have all my typical purse items neatly organized into the pockets, but I also have enough room to put my binders in to go shopping, pack some clothes and snacks for the kids, and space for just about everything else that pops up while not having to worry something is going to get lost in the bottom. The best part is how completely smart they are, they are attractive, (tons of different fabrics to choose from) functional (pocket design) and completely cleanable fabric inside and out to just wipe up spills!!!

Now Audrey has a special place in my heart because of just how amazingly awesome she is, for me and my life. I am cheap (yes, I know frugal sounds better, but lets call it like it is), I hate spending money on anything and Audrey was a bit on the expensive side for a bag (for me, the tightwad). But after using her for a few weeks I have been converted and definitely realized that she is worth every penny! But for those of you that are frugal (cheap) like me, there are bags that range from $25 and up so there is one that will fit anyone’s budget.

My four-year-old has a flare for fashion.  She’s been insistent about picking out her own clothes from about the age of two and has gone to shocking strides to do so (I mean, have you ever seen a kid forced to wear jeans manage to get completely undressed in her carseat, because I have and it’s a talent!)

The first time I walked into my friend’s home what I noticed wasn’t the fact that her house wasn’t perfect or that there were toys scattered everywhere.  It was her walls.  Instead of typical framed photos, artwork, and other decorations typically seen on walls, hers were covered (every inch) with huge photos of her family.

This went against everything I was raised to believe (which was that photos bigger than 8×10 are just too large).  There were professional family portraits, candid photos take at great moments, and even photos of their dog.  The were on every wall – above the dining room table, up the stairway, above the fireplace.  It was absolutley the most display I had ever seen.

Can you tell I’m totally envious?  Each room of her home was filled with memories of her engagement, her children as babies, first steps, and family fun.  It just made the entire house fell welcoming and it made her family seem strong.

I loved it.
