Guest Posts

A wonderful way to share the news about your own blog is to guest post on other blogs. To help other bloggers share their passion with others and grow their readership, In Good Cents happily accepts guest posts.
The following guidelines are provided for personal bloggers. In Good Cents does not publish articles written with the primary purpose of generating SEO links, or with a “look at my site” or “buy my product/service” feel.
Guidelines
- Submissions must be unique (not published elsewhere), well-written and represent the topics and values of In Good Cents. I appreciate articles with personality, new ideas, unique points-of-view, and that have a fun, upbeat feel.
- Each post should be limited to 500 words or less (word count tool) or written as a series.
- Utilize headings, bullets, lists, bold, and short paragraphs to make posts easy to read and visually pleasing.
- Images that represent the article may be included, as long as that photo is royalty-free, available for commercial use, and/or permission is given by the photographer for the photo to be published on In Good Cents. Images should be less than 300×250 pixels. Please include photo credit.
- Article submissions should include: the full article and a short author bio with a link to your website or blog. Articles should be typed or pasted directly into an e-mail with relevant images attached.
- Bloggers are more than welcome to link within the article to relevant articles on your own blog or on In Good Cents. For example, if you mention a recipe, I encourage you to link to that recipe on your blog.
- Posts submitted may be slightly edited, including grammatical corrections, addition of relevant internal links, addition of a personal note, etc… if necessary.
- Submitting a post does not guarantee the article will appear on In Good Cents. All submissions will be reviewed and you will be notified if your submission has been selected to appear. In Good Cents reserves the right to decline guest posts for any reason.

I am new to this website, and my first interest was to look at the coupons or special deals offered. I was dismayed to note that of almost 4,500 merchandise offerings, all were no longer offered. What is it point of even listing them if they are no longer available?
Sincerely,

Gene, In Good Cents is a blog, which means content flows continuously. It’s very different from a website that has static pages (or pages that stay) and continuously update those pages and content. New content is the first thing you’ll see on the main page. The most recent deal added will be listed first. You can sort by categories to see more specific deals. As more deals are added, other deals push down the list. Deals expire quickly sometimes. I’m working on a feature to mark deals as expired. However, if you look at the post, you’ll notice that many of them were posted as far as a year ago. I can’t remove content. I can, but it hurts the site and it not how a blog is designed to work. So, that’s why I always include an expiration date if it’s available in posts. The best way to read a blog is to visit the main page daily to get the latest content or to subscribe by e-mail or RSS, so you get it daily or instantly by e-mail or in a feed reader. In Good Cents has been around for 3 years, so there are many deals expired on the site that were listed long ago. Sorry that caused confusion. Just stopped to leave a note saying “Thank You” for this site.
You’re very welcome!
