Neutrogena Banner 2

So many of us struggle with our skin. It’s oily. It’s dry. Itching, acne, blotches… the list goes on and on. Some days it can seem like you were never meant to be comfortable in your own skin. Literally.

At least that’s how it is for me. Every time I go to battle with my oily skin, I end up with dry skin that feels like it’s on fire.  It wasn’t until high school that my mom picked up Neutrogena oil-free facial cleanser that I started to notice an improvement.

Since then, I’ve tried so many Neutrogena products and they’ve never let me down. In fact, my newest favorite are the towelettes, which make it so easy to remove my makeup.

Neutrogena is helping everyone deal with acne problems and busting skin care myths with their new video “So You’ve Heard…“. I didn’t realize that washing your face too often can actually make the problem worse!

Which acne myth shocked you the most?

My biggest skin challenge is acne. Everything I have tried only seems to work short term.

My biggest challenge is catering to both the drier and oilier areas of my face and giving each what they need without over-drying the dry places or clogging pores in the oily areas creating pimples.

I didn’t know it was a myth that tanning cured acne.

Adult Acne is the biggest challenge you have with your skin?

No. Oily skin would be my biggest challenge, if you’re asking me.

I did not know the myth that covering up acne with makeup makes it worse and now with new Neutrogena Foundation you can actually help clear up acne!

I had not heard several of the myths such as tanning or popping pimples cures or heals faster. I do use Neutrogena skin clearing foundation and I absolutely love it!

My biggest skin problem is acne. I have suffered with it for 16 years now. Neutrogena is my favorite skin care brand and is the only thing that works for me. So I would love to win this. Thanks for the opportunity!

I have to say none of the myth’s really “shocked” me, but I didn’t use to not put lotion on my face because I thought it would make it worse (greasy factor) so I guess I would say the sunscreen one would be my pick.

I am shocked to find out that tanning doesn’t cure acne! I always thought it did that the sun would certainly dry it up!

Stress causes breakout

Reply

25 Renee September 13, 2012 at 7:47 PM

I had acne all through high school and a little bit in college. I finally grew out of the bad acne. Get a few breakouts here and there. But in the last few years, my chest and back have begun to break out. The stress myth made sense to me.

I’m surprised to learn that greasy food doesn’t affect your face. I know for a fact that sugar does! Every time I eat more than a little candy, I break out like a 16 year old! :p

My challenge with my skin is huge, because the birth control pill is what makes me break out, so I have to do a daily rutine of cleaning so I don’t look like an exploding volcano, and I can’t change my birth control pill because I suffer migraines and the type I take is the only one thta won’t cause my headaches to get worse than they already are. Thanks :)
