I purchased this item believing that it was a buy one, get one free. However, in the fine print on the back side of the advertisement, it clearly contradicts the validity of this offer. The fine print says I have to buy TWO of this item at the same time to qualify.

What kind of business is this? i am really disappointed you would stoop to this.

Kenneth, it’s a rebate. You buy two, then submit for the rebate by mailing in your receipt, UPC proof of purchase, and other required material, along with the form. Then, they send you a check for the value of one of the products your purchased. In the end, you buy two, but get the full-value of one back, making it free.

Beth: That is not what the advertisement says. The advertisement clearly says ‘Buy One Get One Free’. If you have no intention of honoring your advertisement, no further comment from you will be necessary.

Kenneth, I’m a bit confused when you mention my advertisement. What advertisement are you talking about? My article is entitled “Prevacid Buy One, Get One FREE Rebate”. It’s clearly marked as a rebate and also reminds you to “Remember to read the terms and conditions carefully, so you get all the correct information submitted to receive your rebate.”. I’m not associated with any stores, nor am I associated with Prevacid. I’m simply a 3rd party that shares deals available in the Midwest area on my personal blog. This is Prevacids promotion and they are the company that released and is sponsoring the rebate, so if you have an issue with the rebate, you may try contacting them directly.

Beth: My complaint is that the coupon says ‘Buy one Prevacid 24HR 42 ct and receive one Prevacid 24Hr 42 ct FREE After mail-in rebate’. Then, in the fine print on the back of the coupon it says you must purchase two at the same time on the same receipt. If the coupon would have said ‘Buy two – - – - etc’, then I would have bought two. For this reason, I feel that this coupon is very, intentionally, misleading. Thanks for your time.

Additionally, the address for the rebate is as follows:

Prevacid 24HR 42 ct Buy One, Get One
Free with Rebate Program
PO Box 2181

Kenneth, I can see where you could be frustrated. Your missing the fact that it’s a rebate and not a coupon. It says “after mail-in rebate”. A rebate typically means you make a purchase, then mail in a form with the required items (UPC code, receipt, etc…) and get something back by mail for your purchase, like money, a free item, etc… This rebate could be read as you buy one Prevacid and they mail you a second FREE or a coupon or a FREE box. I actually didn’t see it that way until you said it this way, but I understand your frustration. I encourage you to contact Prevacid with your frustrations. They’ll probably mail you a coupon or something for your troubles. Companies typically will if you have a valid complaint.

Kenneth, I don’t have it, but you can probably find it on their site. Or it’s probably the one you sent me on the rebate form, though that could be a PR company that works for them.
