My family has a busy day ahead of us. After being awaken at the crack of dawn by overly excited kids jumping on us, breakfast, and opening presents, we’re driving 8 hours to go snow skiing for a week in Boyne, Michigan!
My entire dad’s side my family is going. With 28 of us together for a week and this being my 4-year-old drama queen’s first year to ski, I’m predicting that the vacation will be more chaotic, than relaxing, but we have a blast each time we go. I’m so excited and even looking forward to playing games on that 8 hour car ride with my kids and husband, enjoying some amazing hot chocolate when we get there, and taking the time to go tubing down a hill this year with my rather adventurous 7 year old.
I’m even more excited about the fact that that rather adventurous 7 year old talked me into taking snowboarding lessons with her (and my teenage cousin) this year. Wish me luck! I hope I come back with all my body parts intact and my bones not cracked. I’m a rather good skier, but but picture myself laying on the side of hill totally unable to get up or flying down backwards wobbling back and forward on my board. We’ll see how I do…
But, before I hit the road, I wanted to take some time to wish all of you a Merry Christmas. I hope you have an amazing holiday with your family and enjoy the true spirit of the holiday.
Plus, I’d love to hear how you and your family are spending your holiday!
While I’m gone, my goal is to not touch my computer (well, barely, since it is an addiction and weaning myself off slowly is probably the best bet), but I’m leaving you in Elizabeth’s very capable hands. Plus, we’ll be taking a bit of time off, posting a little less for nice break to gear up for saving money in the new year. I do have some giveaways lined up and some posts to help you get ready to focus on beating your budget next year!
See you next year and Happy New Year as well!
