My girls are like night and day when it comes to many things. My oldest daughter, Ady, takes after me when it comes to shopping. She could care less if it came from Goodwill or Justice, as long as it’s cute. But, my youngest took 3 outfits for each day of our 5 day camping trip and somehow still had “nothing to wear” on the 3rd day.
For her, fashion is a high priority. I’ve already given up shopping for her, because she won’t like anything I pick out. So, we always head together to wade through outfit after outfit, until we find something that meets both of our requirements. It’s not easy!
But, with both girls, shopping for school clothes one of the highlights of getting ready. They love gathering piles of clothes and making me wait outside the dressing room, while the model each and every piece in front of the large mirrors. It’s our back-to-school tradition and even I get into it!
I think, this year, my kids are experiencing flashbacks, since both insisted they needed tie-dye clothing and peace signs on everything. Plus, they wanted to layer clothing like Rocky and CeCe on Disney’s Shake It Up. Let’s just say they are way more daring with their fashion than their conservative mom, but they do look cute!
Saving on Back-to-School Fashion
Luckily, with back-to-school comes sales galore! Keep watch for coupon and sales on your kids’ favorite brands and stores. Many stores have their lowest prices 1-2 weeks before school starts.
Also, don’t be afraid to check out local consignment stores and sales. While you will have to sort through some clothes that are faded and way past their prime, we often find some great things that look like new (and are new to my kids!).
Between August 12 and 15th, use the coupon code 10MORE to save $10 on your purchase of $50 or more at Bealls online on top of their already discounted prices! You can get everything for your back-to-school fashion needs from backpacks to school uniforms!
