By couponing, there are many times when I can get brand name products less expensive than store brand products.   However, that’s not always the case, especially when it comes to our first aid needs.   With one who recently decided to leave the training wheels behind, another who is still figuring out the steering on her big-girl bike,, and one who thinks he’s part monkey, even though he’s yet to perfect walking, we go through more than our fair share of bandages, antibiotic cream, and other first aid necessities.

There’s often coupons available for brand name versions products found in the pharmacy, but even with a coupon, I find that the price is higher than the store brand and the store brand works just as well.   Our families most in-demand first aid product is bandages… they fix everything (or so my kids believe).   And, while I may have a great $1/1 Band-Aid coupon, I can get more Walgreens Bandages and spend less.   That means, I can let my kids put one on every single mosquito bite they got while camping last week if it makes them feel better (and stops the scratching!).
