One fun way to save money and have family fun during the summer is all the FREE and cheap movies offered at national theaters and cinemas!
A Few Tips & Hints
These are great for families with young kids or kids who haven’t yet been to the theater. Most participating theaters offer a “Cry Theater” for moms with infants or children who may make some noise. Plus, the laid back environment and discount prices, make it okay if you have to sneak out early.
Keep in mind, most movies are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Depending on your local theater, you may have to arrive early to be guaranteed a seat and may even have to wait in line. I often bring quiet entertainment in case we need it beforehand and in case someone needs it during!
I bolded our favorites (of those we’ve seen), in case you wanted a recommendation!
