Happy Holidays! This giveaway is part of The Holiday Gift Guide: Season of Giving Giveaways. Check back daily for new giveaways and gift ideas for everyone on your list!

As long as I’ve known him, my husband has been obsessed with his weight. Coming from a family who struggles, he tries odd diets, exercises a lot, and often measures his food. When, EatSmart asked me to review their EatSmart Precision Pro scale, I knew it was perfect for him. I didn’t realize how much our entire family would use it.
First, when it arrived, we all started weighing our food. Scott and I went into shock over how much food we were actually eating per meal (it’s embarrassing to admit, but it was pounds!). My kids, however, realized they could finally find out the answer to the age-old question of “who got more”.
While my husband and I started eating meals that were more proportionate, my kids starting cleaning their plates without complaint, to prove that they could eat as much as the other. It was unexpected, but wonderful.
Immediately, my husband and I started to lose some weight. But, dieting and ending sibling rivalry wasn’t all it was good for! I also used it to get exact measurements when baking and my daughter and I used it to do a few science experiments she’d seen in school.
I actually wondered how often I’d use this scale, but I find myself pulling it out daily for everything from teaching my children to cooking dinner. It’s wonderful and I”m not quite sure how I lived without it before.
On a side note, before agreeing to do this review, I did a little research. I read reviews and was shocked at what I found. Customers raved about the products. Complaints were rare. After a while, I realized that the company was contacting those rare customers with poor reviews and fixing the problem, whatever it was. Customer service is a lost art in this day and age and for a company to contact customers to exchange their faulty products or fix issues… well, that’s just amazing!

When the urge to eat more than your diet allows comes around, Take a deep breath, take a drink of water and wait a few minutes. The feeling to overeat should go away or better yet give you a feeling of being full.
My tip is to always have great alternatives on hand!

i keep easy snacks on hand
At meals focus more on non-starchy veggies and fruit, they are filling, lower calories typically, and provide so many nutrients. I also try to portion out snacks in easy to grab containers.
Tip for eating healthy is to always drink water throughout the day and take the stairs when you can. I also park far from the store when I’m out shopping.

My best tip is to drink a glass of water before a meal, eat lots of fruits & veggies, and portion control! Now if I can only just follow my own advice once I have this baby next month & lose the baby weight! lol! Thanks for doing this!

TIP: Don’t buy any snacks that you don’t have to prepare! Instead of Doritos, for instance, I buy tortilla chips and cheese. This way, you don’y just grab something because you’re bored. If you have to make it, you’ll think about whether you really want it. Also, you’re eating real foods – no extra chemicals to make the “cheese flavoring” look orange!
