Honestly, maybe if you were single and didn’t have full loads of laundry, I could see the benefit in this. But, since it doesn’t seem to do anything except trap colors in the wash, I’m not sure it would be worth the extra expense for our family. I’m already going to do a billion loads of laundry, so might as well do one of each color. Plus, we have separate baskets, so it’s not like we take any extra time separating them.

These are the best! My mom started using them when I was in HS. My HS colors were scarlet and gray, and red clothing bleeds A TON. We would do red/pink loads but even then these would be helpful so the red dye didn’t get onto white parts of clothing (i.e. uniform accent colors). Also, these are great when you have new clothes… now you don’t have to worry about separating new & old clothes — just wash them all together! Now, are these necessary? No. But they are nice, and can be torn into 1/3rds to get more uses out of a box and can even be reused until they actually do collect dye.
