i bring *huge* bags to fill up, and have a list of the items i’m looking for on hand. most times my helper (my husband) and i split on arrival, he gets 1/2 the list and I get the other and we go wild!
Think longer than just then just the upcoming season. Sometimes you can find next year’s coat or swimsuit but only if you’re thinking ahead.
I’m an RSS subscriber!
Shop ahead and be prepared to search for a good bargain!
i am an email follower!
If buying clothing crab what you like in the right size and then take it aside and pick your favorites with the right price.
Shop for that next growth spurt!!! Buy a size up!!!
Go through your kids’ closets beforehand to find out what they need (so that you only buy what they need and don’t impulse buy things they are already well-stocked on).
I like IKC on Facebook
I subscribe to In Good Cents via Google Reader
I already “like” ikc on facebook.
My tip would be to always head to larger items first and snag those if you need them because they go quickly. Then I usually go shop for the biggest size I need first and work backwards because there always seems to more clothes available in the smaller sizes.
yay! My tip is to go as early as you can, bring your own shopping bags (carrying all those hangers can be hard if you’re like me and get a TON of stuff!) and go pick all your faves before getting in line and put some stuff back that you are on the fence about. That way you don’t end up spending a ton of money on stuff you aren’t SURE about! :)
I follow IKC and INGoodCents on Twitter! (mrsraymont)

I already ‘like’ the IKC sale on Facebook! :)
I blogged about your giveaway! http://campraymont.blogspot.com/2010/08/fall-consignment-shopping.html
The best tip[ I can give for selling is to steam your clothes so they look as nice as possible. For buying I say do the toys first, those are harder to find and will probably save you most money in the long run.
Since I haven’t been to a consignment sale before, I don’t have any tips. But I’m definitely going to check this one out.
I subscribe via Google reader.
I “like” the Indy Kids sale on Facebook.
Liked on facebook! I love these sales. Waiting to be a seller until we decide for sure we are done. I do almost all our shopping for kids clothes at these sales. I always go and tackel the crowds the first morning. Make sure you bring plenty of snacks for kids you have to bring with you. Also we get to pick out a special “new” toy for behaving and waiting in long lines! Works wonders.
Tip: If you like something, grab it. Often it is easier to put something back if you change your
mind, but if you don’t pick it up, someone else might grab it instead!
Bring a stroller or wagon to ‘carry” your purchases. Don’t dilly dally, if it’s cute, you like it, and it’s a good enough price put it in your ‘cart’. Go through it all while you wait in line.
I have never been to the IKC sale before, but I am looking forward to it. I am going to bring the double stroller and plenty of stuff to keep the kiddos busy while I look for stuff. I visited facebook and “Liked” the IKC sale page.
Grab what you like and then find a corner to go through your pile. Look over everything really well. I always find something with stains.
I have never been to this consignment sale. It will be interesting to attend it.
