Field trips were always my favorite part of school, not only because it was a brake from the usual, but also because I just learned better hands-on. When I got to experience things first hand that we were studying in class, it helped me understand so much more. And as an education major and teacher, I know how important that is for children.
For these reasons, it saddens me to know that so many schools have been forced to eliminate field trips from their curriculum for financial reasons. It’s estimated that by the end of this school, over 30,000 schools will have cut field trips completely from their classrooms, never giving children the opportunity to experience the places and adventures they talk about each day with their classmates.
Field Trips For All is Lunchables’ newest initiative called, Project Potential. Lunchables knows how important field trips are to children too, so they are currently hosing a contest and will select 50 classroom to win FREE field trips for their students during their Field Trips For All contest. You can nominate your child’s classroom now and tell them why they deserve to win. Or enter another classroom you feel deserves a FREE field trip!
Tell me! Who did you nominate and why?
