I got really frustrated with the IndyStar.com website which made me keep logging in over & over again (I have cookies disabled) so I called the toll free number. I told the rep I was trying to find out if my zip code was eligible for this deal. She knew exactly what I was talking about but was unnable to find the zip code look-up in her computer. However, she did tell me that if I was in an area that was NOT eligible, I would get a message on the website when I tried to sign up telling me that I was not eligible. After I disabled my cookie blocker, I signed back in, completed the form and got “Thank you Your information was successfully received.”
I had never heard of Your Essential Shopper before so THANK YOU SO MUCH for letting us know about it!
No problem! I hope it does work. Just testing the site, I signed up my mother-in-law and I’m pretty sure she’s not eligible, but she got the “Thank You” message too. I’m hoping they extended their coverage, because that would be nice, and not that there is a flaw in the site.
However, inside is usually a coupon to get the newspaper Thurs/Sun for only $0.50 a week, which is a great deal and you can get them both together! So, two inserts delivered each week for only $0.50. You can beat that no matter where you get your newspaper (unless you get it free :)).

WOW! I pay $9.35 a month for the Thursday & Sunday paper. I’ve actually been thinking of cancelling my subscription, waiting a few months & then signing back up through one of the discount newpaper services. Then I saw your post & thought maybe double the coupons would make it more worthwhile. I’ll have to look for that coupon when I get my first delivery. Thanks again for all your info!

I’ve heard a lot of people have not. Mine even stopped coming, so I called and asked about it. They had my order and had that my subscription as going, but didn’t know why it had not gotten to my door. So, they had to call my carrier to straighten it out. Hopefully I’ll get it this week. You can call them at 444-4000 and see if they can get your on track too!

Aya, YES! I have called them repeatedly. They’ve reinstated my delivery a few times, but it never arrives no matter what I do. I’ve even spoken with a contact I have at the Indianapolis Star and it seems no one knows why it never arrives. I received them regularly until I paused my subscription. Since then, I haven’t received one no matter what. My neighbor still gets them weekly though.

Yikes, if you call when your subscription is up, and ask if they have any deals, they sometimes have one or two. I got it for $5 a month once and that’s the most I’ve paid!
I totally believe you should get a discount for the loyalty of being a subscriber, just like with magazines, so it should cost less than picking it up at the dollar store where it’s $1 a week or about $8-$9 a month if you got Thurs & Sun. I don’t quite understand why newspapers think they should charge subscribers more. Doesn’t quite encourage customer loyalty.
