- First, look around your kitchen and figure out what you already have the ingredients to make. Also, think about meals you could make if you had one or two more ingredients on hand. These meals will be cheap, because you’ll only need to buy 1 or 2 items.
- Next, look at the circulars and deals. Pick 1 or 2 stores that have the products you need or want on sale and plan the remaining meals around that circular.
- Finally, double check to make sure you have all the ingredients you need for the entire week, because running back to the store to pick up an item here or there really messes up your budget!
Meal plans are so important to keep your budget down. With out a plan, you find yourself stopping by the store through out the week to pick up a few ingredients for something you’re making that night and you completely ruin your budget. You plan doesn’t have to be detailed, because mine is obviously not! Just make sure you have enough to get through until your next shopping trip.
