Remove stem and skin from cherries, then puree in blender. Mix applesauce, cherry puree, and oatmeal with a dash of vanilla. Serve warm.
Puree in a blender for baby if necessary.
Change It Up: Replace pureed apples with pureed pears or bananas. Or replace oatmeal and vanilla with vanilla yogurt for creamy sweet breakfast! You can also keep the cherries and apples diced, instead of pureed. Boil them with the oats when cooking for older children.
