HAPPY EARLY LABOR DAY!
It’s Labor Day, so don’t forget – NO COUPONS! And, since I’m spending the holiday with my in-laws out of town and hitting Holiday World with my kids, there will be a delay in Target, Meijer (Sat.-Sun.), and the Walgreen highlights. I didn’t want to leave you hanging without something fun though.
I was telling my boss she had to try this recipe, then realized I’d never posted it! Thanks goes to my friend Sara for letting me know how truly delicious a chicken can become when you stick a beer up it’s bottom!
INGREDIENTS
1 Cup Butter
2 TBSP Garlic Salt
2 TBSP Garlic Salt
2 TBSP Paprika
Salt & Pepper (to taste)
1 Can Beer
1 Whole Chicken
Preheat outdoor grill for low heat. In a small pan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Once melted, mix 1/2 of the garlic powder, paprika, salt, & pepper. Discard 1/2 of the beer, leaving the remaining in the can. Add remaining butter, garlic powder, salt, & pepper to the can. Place can on a disposable baking pan and sit chicken on top, placing the can into the cavity of the chicken. You can also, if you prefer, insert the can straight into the chicken and carefully place it straight onto the grill, skipping the baking pan. Use the melted butter mixture to baste the chicken. Cook on low for 3 hours. Enjoy!
