Egg Gravy Recipe

I’ve mentioned before that meat is one of the most expensive items Americans purchase and it’s consumed in excess. With this in mind, I try to leave meat out of meals now and then to save money. This is a cheaper and very delicious alternative to sausage gravy that my Grandma makes!

INGREDIENTS
6 Eggs, beaten
2 TBSP butter (optional)
4 TBSP all purpose flour
3 cups cold milk
Salt and pepper to taste (optional)

Scramble eggs until done. Add milk, butter, and flour. Salt and pepper as desired. Cook to a boil, then set aside to thicken. Serve warm on top of biscuits or toast.

Plus, here is a very sweet alternative:

INGREDIENTS
4 Eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Mix together and cook in a skillet, stirring constantly. Great over toast or biscuits!

My husband’s favorite meal is biscuits and gravy – I never considered making anything but sausage gravy. Thanks for the recipes!
