As a Shriner, my Dad is often kindly donating his time and money to help the Children’s Hospital. His most recent philanthropic resulting in him having huge bags of Vidalia onions in his garage. He gave some to his family members, including me. I diced half of them up and flash froze them to use later in stews and recipes, but I kept a few fresh to try out my Stepmom’s Bacon-Wrapped Grilled Vidalia Onion recipe. It was delicous. Try it out…
Ingredients
1 Vidalia Onion
1 TBSP Butter
1 TBSP Brown Sugar
Barbeque Sauce
2 Slices Bacon
First, remove thes skin of your onion and clean it off. Cut the top off and hallow out the core, so the onion has a small “bowl” in the center. In the core, put the butter, then brown sugar. Crisscross the bacon slices on top, top with barbeque sauce, and wrap in aluminum foil. Grill on high for 45 minutes-1 hour until done. Makes 1 serving. Enjoy.
