IN Good ‘Cents’ is growing so quickly. Thank you all for spreading the word! As loyal readers, I wanted to give you all some tips for reading this blog and for getting involved.
- Watch & enjoy the comments! Sometimes I miss a great deal and readers add deals they catch in the comments. For example, this week a reader, Corey, realized that Green Giant Steam Fresh Vegetables were FREE at Kroger and part of the Mega Savings Event, even though they weren’t listed in the advertisement. He added a comment to let us know! Thanks Corey!
- Add a comment! If you see a great deal or just want to share how well you did at the grocery store this week, leave a comment to let the rest of us know! We’d all love to hear about any great coupons, samples, freebies, or deals you find!
- Give feedback! This site is so new, so I am very open and very appreciative of any comments you have or changes you’d like to see. If it’s something I can make possible, I’d be more than happy to do so, so e-mail me or leave a comment to let me know!
I look forward to hearing from you!

Ummm, Corey is actually a guy :P I know it is rare to see a guy into this stuff…especially a college sophomore guy. It is all good though, I don’t take offense to those little mistakes :)
LOL, sorry, Corey! I actually have a few male readers, but I think it’s more that I’m reading a book right now and the main character is a female named Corey. The “college sophomore guy” part does shock me. My brother is a freshman right now and I don’t think he cares at all about saving money at the grocery store right now.
Well Beth, This is you mother :) and you will be glad/surprized to know that Andrew says to me all the time. “I’m going out to eat here or thinking about buying this or that. Do you have a coupon?” or “Can you find me a deal?”
So Corey I’m proud of you!!
Haha, yeah, I got into it over the summer. I have never liked to spend money and somehow I stumbled on Slickdeals and saw the CVS thread one day and everything in the thread said FREE. So I started. I don’t have to buy like most of you who have to support a family. I go to college here locally so I stay at home and my mom does most of the shopping but I nab all the free or really really cheap things that she would miss/refuses to buy (I have so many toaster strudels right now, I think I am in heaven!).
Last night a friend of mine and I went to see a movie and have dinner and I got her makeup from Walgreens. She is impressed by me never spending much money. We did the entire night for under $10.
Plus, girls love it. I got a marriage proposal from one of my friends when she saw all the stuff I had that I spent next to nothing on. Let your brother know that ;)
